If you are aged between 16 and 24, the Kickstart scheme could help get your career back on track. The scheme, which is due to run until December 2021, is specifically aimed to give young people a stepping stone into their chosen sector. Here’s everything you need to know.
What is the government’s Kickstart scheme?
The Kickstart Scheme will fund hundreds of thousands of high quality 6 month work placements for young people aged 16-24 deemed at risk of long term unemployment due to Coronavirus.
The scheme will pay employers 100% of the National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week, plus employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions. There is also a £1,500 grant per job placement available for setup costs, support and training.
Most employers aren’t allowed to apply directly to the Government for funding. As an official Kickstart Gateway, we can handle your application on your behalf entirely free of charge as the Government covers our administration costs directly.
