What is the Kickstart Scheme?
The Kickstart Scheme funds hundreds of thousands of high quality 6 month work placements for young people aged 16-24 on Universal Credit deemed at risk of long term unemployment due to Coronavirus.
The scheme pays employers 100% of the National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week, plus employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions. There is also a setup grant per job placement available for setup costs, support and training.
The Kickstart Scheme is now coming to an end. Applications are no longer being accepted from new employers. The latest date that Job Centre Work Coaches can refer candidates to existing vacancies is 28th February. All Kickstart Scheme jobs must start by 31st March.
